Bosom Friends
Whenever possible Lia visits her dear old friend Yolanda in Lippstadt. Both of them have grown so much! But old age doesn't mean you can't be active!
Two athletic ladies riding their bikes,
waving gracefully before setting off on a senior bike tour,
and spitting on dandelions through gapped teeth. So cute!

(Maybe we should send Lia to a casting of 'That 70's Show'. Isn't this the way my mother used to dress me?? Hmm...)
And this was ages ago! Two darling babies on the couch.
(Do I see a checkered top and bell-bottoms? Weird.)

I'm totally confused, first by Yolanda's hair, then by Lia's bike. Does it have pedals???
p.s. Didn't Germany see summer this year? Er, did it just skip you guys and laid triple-time in the Carolinas??? I don't think we've seen jeans since last February!
Seriously, the bottom jeans pic is from a Carolina's February (2008).
SEE?! Then came March 1st and we promptly switched to short shorts and tank tops!
Liar! It's TOTALLY RAINING right now in the Carolinas!
OOH! Yes, it is but we're still wearing shorts!!!
Not your kids. They're hanging out in diapers.
Don't know about Germany and Charlotte, but it's been in the very high 90's here in Richmond for a couple of weeks now! Seriously, does Lia already ride without pedals? I'm impressed.
Yes, both bikes are without pedals. In German they're called running-bikes (if you translate it literally) and they come purposely WIHTOUT pedals. The kids are basicalls 'walking' (or running once they've figured it out) the bike and are learning that way to balance the bike. Then it's easier to learn pedaling.
But I'm sure you have them in the US, too.
Oh, was hier alles passiert, wenn man mal ein paar Tage Urlaub macht...
