Sleeping beauties

Some cuddly snapshots of Lia (busy until the last minute):

Yawn.

Err, when do you start pottytraining your teddybears?

Busy Ben

So now both of my children are CONSTANTLY busy. Which is great, because now I have another little helper. It is absolutely not true that boys don't like housework. Setting the dishwasher for me is Ben's favorite task in the kitchen.

news - news - news:
Ben's lower central incisors are coming through! The left one has already appeared. Ben just put his steak knife into the dishwasher.

Ready, set, crawl!

Baby is no longer hopping! He is a real crawler now.
Seriously Ben, what took you so long?

Lia at her best

Crazy wowan gracefully ending her modern ballet performance with the pose of the dead swan. We just love Lia's interpretation of Swan Lake.

Bosom Friends

Whenever possible Lia visits her dear old friend Yolanda in Lippstadt. Both of them have grown so much! But old age doesn't mean you can't be active!

Two athletic ladies riding their bikes,

waving gracefully before setting off on a senior bike tour,

and spitting on dandelions through gapped teeth. So cute!

(Maybe we should send Lia to a casting of 'That 70's Show'. Isn't this the way my mother used to dress me?? Hmm...)

And this was ages ago! Two darling babies on the couch.

Good times.

(Do I see a checkered top and bell-bottoms? Weird.)

6

Ben is six months old!
And he just couldn't get there fast enough.

He is so curious, so cute, so cuddly! And soooo cool.
When I was pregnant I used to think how could anybody ever live up to Lia? But he is just as perfect. Go figure.

And just like his big sister, Ben is throwing himself at the world. Can't figure things out fast enough! In his baby class, Ben is getting special assignments, as he is ahead of everyone else. He is trying hard to stand out from the immature lot, the little geek! But even if his hair and jeans have the perfect cut, he can't fool us! He's still our little Baby Ben.

With two bottom teeth shining through, it was time to introduce The Spoon.

It was very easy to convince his bib to eat, whereas Ben was rather skeptic. (Unlike his sister, who was born with a Gerber spoon in her hand and emptied her first bowl of puree in one go.) It was like Ben didn't really know what to do and why the hell I was trying to paint his face orange.

Open your mouth, birdie!

Bon appetit, little pumpkin.

Baby on the move

I swear I put him inside his tent a minute ago.

Content baby with paci in mouth, feet up in the air, and toy in hand? Well, that was yesterday. Today Ben is all over the place, bouncing this way and that. For a couple of weeks he is moving places by hopping forward like a little frog. And he's really fast too. Now we have two wild things on the move!
Catch me!

Ribbit.
