Ben

Our gorgeous little son! And he has grown! Almost three months old, cuddly, sunshiny, and absolutely easy to handle. He loves company, loves his sister, loves to talk. Every time we look at him his beautiful face lights up with delight and we get the sweetest smile in return (his mouth will open wide and his tongue will curl up in such a cute way that you just want to eat him up). He has started to make the sweetest sounds when we engage him in a conversation, and boy does he have stories to tell! His arms are always in motion, and it seems like he is already trying to reach for things. He loves to wriggle around and already starts to turn this way and that. He is glued to my breasts and preferably falls asleep with a nipple in his mouth. I'm sharing my bed with two goodlooking men right now, and falling asleep with this lovely little Peanut in my arms (or stuck in my armpit) is a feeling I can't possibly desribe with words.

Ben doing tummy time!

Only few babies get born with such a perfect hairdo.

Blowdrying his hair is a must. Ben totally insists.

And here is the first girl who has fallen for this stylish little fellow.

Lia

What can I say? We love her beyond words. I've never seen a toddler with more energy. This girl needs action! Shyness has never been a part of her personality. She's straightforward, social, and friendly. The second day after moving into our house ("Lia's house!" as Lia would say) the girls from across the street rang our doorbell to play with the new kid, and off she went (ran) with them - without even looking back. Lia's favorite pastime apart from 'keeping on moving' is to talk, talk, talk. Every day she comes up with new words, expressions, sentences. "Ben hat kleine Haare! Und Mama hat grosse Haare." ('Ben has little hair! And mom has big hair'). Independence is very important to her. She needs to do everything alone, and also take over. Would we hand her our car keys, that girl would stand with both feet on the accelerator and drive away. Full speed.

Lia watching her Dad play soccer and waving at her star.

"Let's go!" Lia watching the world from Superdad's shoulders.

Always a lady. Lia with stylish British handbag sent to her by Tara.

Southern Belle. "Talk and drive" - she couldn't be more American.

The Birds and the Bees

Time flies! And so does Ben:

And our spirits, too! It's spring! I have no idea how, after a looong and eventful winter the season has changed so quickly. We have all enjoyed a whole lot of sunshine recently, but why am I talking about the weather? More than that we have enjoyed our two babies Lia and Ben. Both have changed so much in what seems a short period of time. Lia's hair has grown and Ben's hasn't fallen out yet! Lia has learned more letters of the alphabet and Ben already talks (babbles, coos, and smiles - whenever we're not sending him flying). We are enrolling them in school this summer. The two of them are happy and content little Peanuts. And I still don't know how to divide myself into two equal motherly parts. Any ideas?

The secenery: Hannover's lovely Barock gardens at Herrenhausen.
(Can't deny that the sun and lovely weather makes us utterly homesick. We miss North Carolina a lot, and our dear friends back home...)

The birds and the bees: kisses, kisses. We are nuts about them.

No pictures of the exhausted parents at night time, but one of our two lively kids in Pjs (and a kimono):

Getting ready for bed in our new house! We moved into our own 'space', a gorgeous space indeed. More pics to come, if I'll find the time to take them!
