Waiting for snow, waiting for winter, waiting for the holidays.

And it was way worth the wait.

8. Kyo

Karate grading test: Ben applying for the white-yellow belt.

High level of concentration:

HAAA!

Fighting hard, fighting back,

impressing his audience.

And he did it! Proud owner of new belt.

And you'll never guess where that lead to - training with double world champion
Enis Imeri and world grand prix champion Lightning McQueen!!

And that's karate from a whole new perspective.

A VERY different perspective, as it is ;)

kicking when you think you're down

and jumping through loops.

Feeling strong and proud. And loud.

And Ben got such a boost of confidence, that he agreed to play the leading role in a theatre play - without saying a word about it at home. Benjamin the Mouse, a quietly speaking yet very convincing little mouse. He keeps surprising us.

Ben - five years old. And not a bit mousy.

Yee-hawing with family & friends

Proudly presenting (in a horse shirt so ugly that I couldn't help it. Must-have H&M.):

Step one: the family. Granddads and grandmothers Short and Shorty, aunties and uncle.

Spitting out candles. Tradition.

Cake with horse meat.

Edible beauty.

A real cowgirl goes to sleep with her boots on. Normale.

Step two: the party.

Well, hello! My carrot cake fitting Oh. SO. Perfectly.

Drrrrinks. Carrot Juice? Let's not exaggerate.

Give-aways!

Cupcakes. Traditions, traditions.

Thanks to Brittany from Edible Details: miniature hats and boots, same colors as original.

My pride this year: homemade carrot cookies.

I'm very proud of myself. Yes.

Table. Eek!

And my paper carrots! Double-Eek!!

And my new camera, blending the background very nicely. Triple-EEEK!!!

Macarons. Round like the party theme dots you can spot here and there.

Most important! Happy and excited guests!

The pinata is Mexican and therefore REAL. A big thank you to our Mexican neighbor.

Poor caballo. That was one short life.

Cowboys and girls.

Horse treats.

Lia with Sternchen. Bestest pony ever.

The places you will go, Peanut.

Sternstunden mit Sternchen. To you, dear Lia! Chamsa, tfu.

And an extra-big thank-you-hug to Brandy,
who sent us the original cowgirl outfit from the States.
She is always supporting our craziness. Which for her is actually NORMALE.
Crazy girl.
