Island Monkeys

Finally they are here, our best friends from England.
Ben has a new best friend, too! Leo! He's his first, actually. Let's hope it'll last a lifetime. Friendships that were formed in a sandbox tend to do that.

And the girls! Lia and Tara. Best buds.
Eating ice cream. Been there, done that.
And it's as great as ever!

So nice having you back.
Or should I say 'luvely'?

Blue

We're not feeling blue, just kind of blue-ish.
Blueberry picking does that to you.

On that particularly blue morning the kids picked gazillions of blueberries, but paid only 70 cents when leaving the premises. The kids had spent hours flinging blueberries into their mouths, and finally left with
25 blueberries and 2 enlarged stomachs.

You can eat one by one ...

*gobble*

... or try a fistfull.

And then simply carry your belly in a bowl.

*gulp*

(Thank God blueberry poop doesn't smell so bad.)

Lia and Ben in Wonderland

We are back on blogging duty! Starting with a magical report of a rather strange outing. What you see are Lia and Ben working up the courage to face fairies and dwarfs. One more sip of alcohol. 'You ready?' It's time again for the Little Festival in the Big Garden.

Damn it! That thing is coming closer!
This year's fairy tale come alive is greeted like a hypnopomic hallucination. My two wriggle worms are glued to their little wagon, frozen with both fascination and fear at the sight of those unearthly creatures passing by. The fact that both of them slept in the car on the way to this spooky event isn't really helping. 'This must be a dream! And why am I not waking up? Gigantic doll  at 12 o'clock coming at us!'

The first to make a run is Lia, who is much more comfortable watching the gay butterflies from her Dad's shoulders, while Ben is still working on his escape route.

We need a time out! A tasty one. Sandwiches and meatballs for the dwarfs.

And then we're on the road again. After this delicious picnic it's much easier to stomach the surprises that lurk behind every tree in the garden.

Ben is still not quite convinced. Or maybe he needs more meatballs to keep his inner calm and balance? Probably.

Lia on the other hand is much more relaxed, and is finally enoying the night with all its nightly creatures that were set loose. As a fairy, you have to show your fellow citizens from Wonderland some respect. Right?
