All American Girl

Ready to P A R T Y?

Oh yes. Red mirror ball is already circling under the ceiling.

And the race cars are lined up.

Sweeter than candy on a stick ....

huckleberry cherry or lime ...

Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lolli lolli! Lollipop!

With lots of butter...

And no American party without an American beauty offering coke.

Star stamps as give-aways.

Patriotic banners, which got stuck in German customs, made it just in time.

Now wave the American flag.

Sizzling burgers.

Party preparations? Done.

Let the games begin.

PARTEYYYY!

US sports are just the right thing to get back in shape.

American bowling!

Knocking down all pins!

Love the shoes!!

I think we can call this day a strike!

Stars and Stripes

Stars, stripes, burlap and lots of puff balls for our seven year old!

The beauty of layers and layers of fine paper
(that equal a whole night spent in the attic, folding and unfolding layers of fine paper.)

Stars, stripes and the first snowflakes of this winter.

Burlap photographed up close. (I just love the word. Burlap.)

Two steps back and it's not just stars but a whole sky.

In the wee hours of the morning...

And for a Special girl who doesn't like chocolate: American White Cake.

And here she is! A happy birthday girl, catching snowflakes with her eyes.

Our star.

It feels like ages ago ....

But she carries it inside her.

Ben 10

The sport's careers in our family are pretty fixed.
We have our American Cheer-Lia on one side,
and a handsome East-Westphalian soccer player on the other side.

Double checking contents of bag.

Ben 10, born in Lippstadt, now playing for Hannover 96.

Warming up. This way, everyone!

And regardless of the final score, Ben is always on the winning team.

Left-footed and extremely talented.

And it's not that we haven't given them plenty of options ....

Fall

leopard in a leotard

We proudly present: Lia!
Four years of intense ballet training have paid off!
Four minutes of fame, that made us and herself extreeeemly proud!

Backstage: Wild cat half asleep. No need to be overly excited when you are a total pro.
Cause no one points her toes and claws better than Lia.

And once let loose, she can't be tamed! (Nor captured properly...)

No need to be scared, though! Step right up!

Five afternoons with hours and hours of preparation and many dancing acts of beautifully dancing boys and girls. Each afternoon, Lia and her circus impressively open the show ...

... and are celebrated for their fine dancing in the newspaper!

Wild cat rocks!

Einschulung!

Lia's BIG DAY.
First day of school.
Sigh. We are so proud of you, darling Peanut.

Die Ausbeute:

And off she goes, on her very first day of school:
