Magic Red Shoes

Today Lia got a new pair of shiny red shoes and took four steps! Not in them (and hopefully not away from them), but a connection cannot be denied. Will a pair of boots encourage Lia to walk down the whole length of our living room? After all, "boots are made for walking". And what about a pair of Seven Mile Boots? It probably depends on their colour...

Vielleicht als nächstes ein Paar rote Tango-Schuhe und dann mit Lorenzo ein feuriges Tänzchen aufs Parkett legen... Na Lia, das wär doch was?! LG, Tante Su und Onkel Chrischie

Boy oh boy, what pretty shoes are those! And boy oh boy, ain't Lia glad she wasn't born a boy and can get away with having two pretty pairs at so tender an age. As far as glad goes, I'm sure Mum is glad - hang on, Mum probably doesn't mind, but Dad sure will be glad - that it is now proven that there is NO (I repeat, NO) connection between the number of shoes in Lia's possession and the number of steps she takes. The initial numerical two-two correspondence was a bit suspicious, and imagine how many pairs it would have taken to see Lia make it across the living room!

well, maybe we stick with little shoes for the moment and skip the boots because - although we don't want Lia to be a pushover - doesn't the song go on "one of these days the boots are gonna walk all over you"? not that I don't want her to walk, don't get me wrong! I'm all for it!

Well, and although style is certainly more important than function - as we all know, especially Mommy Rosi - it's still a bit too early in the season in South Carolina for boots, right? However! It's only 5 degress Celsius over here - so you better get back to the store because the girl is gonna need some (pretty) boots!!!

Um, Alex, I still think there is indeed a connection between shoes and steps, only MULTIPLICATION. See, 2x2=4... hmm... One pair= 2 steps, Two pair = 4 steps.

Ah, sorry Nirit, looks like you'll have to buy those cute pink Uggs after all...lucky for you, the living room is all that big!

Scott says: our bank account is thanking us now for having a boy and being able to get by with just one pair of shoes, at least for now. But as for you guys, it’s very important to keep up with the current fashion requirements, and it seems like you are doing great at it. Oh, and we love the red shoes.

Multiplication, of course! NOW I can see it too. And Nirit just turned a pair of magical red lady bird slippers down for a birthday present. She thinks Lia does NOT NEED an extra pair of slippers! Hah, best think again, Nirite! If number of pairs of shoes multiplies with previous number of achieved steps, then you could have made it to 12 steps in them!!
