"Is das cool, Mama?"

My son is a talker. I can't really say when it happened, but I do remember that one morning Ben looked at me and said:
"Mama, weißt Du was? (weisuwaaas?)" and I said: "Nee, was denn?" and he just smiled at me for an answer.
So now I have two children with very firm opinions and the ability to express those. There is so much to see, so much to say. "Mama guck mal, cooler Käfer!" or "Ej, was soll das?" are sentences that totally melt my heart. And when exactly did he start to speak in full sentences? Overnight, seriously. His way of talking is the sweetest thing I've ever heard. He likes to add an "o" to words, just for special emphasis. He likes to eat "Schafskäso" and will ask for "Hilfo". He does not talk up a storm, as the saying goes, but chooses each word carefully and pauses between words. Even though he can basically say it all and flawlessly prounounces words like "Autotransporter" and "Kipplaster", he builds his sentences around his old and established baby vocabulary. A bicycle hence remains a Wackawack (Fahrrad), a motorbike is a Tockatock (Motorrad), a helicopter is a Ubdabda (Hubschrauber), and a tractor is a Kako.
And that toddler lisp? Makes a sentence like "Mama, weithuwaaath?" absolutely priceless.
