Talking about friendship. Lia's best friend is a teddy bear.
Not just a teddy bear, but Stevie, who actually is a girl. They share all of their adventures and the same bed, or in this case MY bed. Around midnight you can hear paw- and footsteps down the corridor, when the two of them come shuffling to my bed. Stevie is Lia's biggest fan and never misses out on her ballet class, where (s)he sits on an extra pillow in the corner. Poor bear looks like ninety, and probably is ninety, or ninety one, in bear years. Her(!) fur has a greenish tint that even a German washing machine can't wash off, and there's a hole just above her heart, where our neighbor's dog in Charlotte got hold of our poor lady bear. It don't matter, she's still the most beautiful greenish girl bear ever! And fully deserves to be carried around in a chic handbag. Like this morning.

Stevie...wait....LIA, you are completely and totally adorable awake AND asleep. Serene and peaceful actually and I LOVE the photo. Stevie, we might miss you *almost* as much as the original nut. Better, we miss seeing you ATTACHED to the original nut, sleeping OR awake or just being dragged around in true-love style.

by the way I see my fiesty, rambunctious, kinda tomboy girl is very obviously not of the same ilk as Lia, Francesca and Tara....Ballet is just sooo not her thing. So no cute ballet pics from this end - yet!

my, my, how they've grown!! lia has grown up and her fur has grown long, and poor old steve- grown down, i guess, especially in his fur. he's not even a third of they way to retirement (which is hopefully somewhere around 16) and already travelling by bag, the bear equivalent of a wheel chair.
life can be just as tough as pleasurable sometimes...
it is a known fat that there's a strong woman behind ever president and a strong bear behind most every little tomboy girl.
